1. Agreeing to these terms
By adding Hootloot to a server or using it in your DMs, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. Hootloot runs on Discord, so Discord's own Terms of Service also apply to your use of it. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use Hootloot.
2. What Hootloot is
Hootloot is a Discord bot made by Artchemy Labs LLC (Connecticut, USA) that watches public web pages you choose and notifies you in Discord when they change, a restock, a price move, a size coming back, a new listing. It reads the page the way a browser would and compares it to what it saw last time.
3. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old (or older where your country requires it) and meet Discord's minimum age requirement. You're responsible for anything done through your Discord account with Hootloot.
4. Using it responsibly
Hootloot is a tool, and you're responsible for how you point it. You agree that you will not:
- Use Hootloot to access pages you're not permitted to access, or to defeat a site's login, paywall, or other access controls.
- Use it in a way that violates the terms of the sites you watch, or applicable law.
- Attempt to overload, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service or the infrastructure it runs on.
- Resell, rent, or rebrand Hootloot as your own service.
You choose which URLs to watch, and you're responsible for making sure your use of those pages is allowed.
5. Free & Premium
Hootloot has a free plan and a Premium plan at $1.99/month. Premium is sold and billed entirely through Discord's subscription system. That means:
- Discord processes the payment. Artchemy Labs never handles or stores your card details.
- Renewals, cancellations, and refunds are governed by Discord's terms and handled through Discord.
- We may adjust what's included in the free and Premium tiers over time; material changes to a paid plan come with notice, as described in §11.
6. Affiliate links
Hootloot may show optional, clearly labeled affiliate links alongside your own link. Using them is always your choice, they never change the price you pay, and your own link is never altered. Full details are in our affiliate disclosure.
7. Other people's sites & brands
Hootloot is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any retailer, brand, marketplace, or platform whose pages it can watch. All product names, logos, and trademarks, including the retailers shown as examples on our site, belong to their respective owners, and are referenced only to describe what Hootloot can watch. "Discord" is a trademark of Discord Inc. The content of any watched page belongs to whoever owns that page.
8. No guarantees
Hootloot is provided "as is" and "as available." It's a best-effort watcher, not a guarantee.
A site can block automated requests, change its layout, hide its data, or go down; a check runs on an interval, not continuously. So Hootloot may miss a change, report it late, or occasionally misread a page. Do not rely on Hootloot as your only source for time-critical or high-stakes purchases. We make no warranty that alerts will be accurate, complete, timely, or uninterrupted.
9. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Artchemy Labs LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any missed alert, lost purchase opportunity, or loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, Hootloot. Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for Hootloot in the twelve months before the claim (which, on the free plan, is nothing).
10. Suspension & ending
You can stop using Hootloot at any time by removing it from your server or blocking its DMs. We may suspend or end access for anyone who abuses the service or breaks these terms. We may also discontinue Hootloot, or any feature of it, with reasonable notice where practical.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. For material changes, we'll give notice through the bot, this site, or our Discord. Continuing to use Hootloot after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, and you agree to that jurisdiction.
